Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about PolyCommand and trading.

Order Types

What is a limit order?

A limit order is an order to buy or sell a security at a specific price or better. It gives you control over the price you pay or receive, but there's no guarantee the order will be executed if the market doesn't reach your specified price.

What is a market order?

A market order is an order to buy or sell a security immediately at the best available current price. It guarantees execution but not the exact price, as the market price may change between when you place the order and when it executes.

Which should I choose?

Limit orders give you price control but may not execute if the market moves away from your price. Market orders guarantee execution but at the current market price. Choose limit orders if price is important, or market orders if you need immediate execution.
